History of Sharp
Sharp printers have been a long time company, which people have depended on for their printing needs. Many will be shocked to actually know that this company is headquartered in Abeno-ku, Osaka, Japan. The company was actually founded in 1912. The first invention was made by Tokuji Hayakawa and it was the mechanical pencil. That was the beginning of inventions that were to be made under the Sharp name brand. In 1925 Sharp began producing Japanese radio sets and then in continued to develop technology. It was in 1953 that they took a leap and began creating television sets. It was apparent at this time that Sharp was a force to be reckoned with.
In 1964, they branched out into computing devices, such as the calculator. At this time they had no experience in this field, as they were testing the waters. They continued to develop new and exciting products. In the 1990’s was when their leap into the home market went into full swing. The company began producing printers for home use. They also created many multi-functional devises such as all in one fax machines. They also introduced color printing, which could be done from home. Gone were the days of the dot matrix printers when Sharp stepped on the scene with crystal clear color copiers and printers.
It is pretty much a staple that every home has a computer system and a printer. But back in the 1990’s it was not so heard of. By the mid 90’s more people were becoming aware of the internet and its abilities to help the common man. Sharp was a pioneer in the computer and printer industry. When computers became popular, Sharp was there with the knowledge and expertise to help common man leap into a new decade in technology.
